I remember the day we first met. I was in my office over at Radio 1 & 2 in Emirates Media, and Derek came in to talk, as he often did when in the building. “I want you to meet my brother Maurice, who’s just moved over and joined us at Emirates Media.” Your smile was broad, your laugh infectious and the understanding that we were now diaspora family reunited in a distant land was immediate. From that day on, parties at Derek & Mush’s were amped to another level because; Maurice was in the house. 😊 Over the years our families grew together until our mutual time in the Emirates came to an end. How saddened we were to learn of your passing. How grateful we are that we had the chance to meet and have our lives enriched by your presence.
