It’s very difficult to reconcile with Maurice’s abrupt passing. His transition highlights the fleeting nature of life. As Marcia’s cousin, he welcomed me in their home in a way that made me feel at home. He had an easy way of being and a generosity of spirit that made him unforgettable. I can’t think of one of my favorite performers, Prince, without thinking about Maurice. He made it possible for me to see Prince’s performance at the 2010 Formula 1 in Abu Dhabi. I’ve shared that story countless times and will continue to do so in his memory.
